Among the twelve (12 ) principles for management change , it is the sixth and eleventh principles that are most relevant to the issue at hand These principles are : 6th- Truth ' is more important during periods of change and uncertainty than good news ' and 11th- The more input people have into defining the changes that will affect their work , the more they will take ownership for the results

The sixth principle posits that during times of change , truth is more important than good news . This is most true when change occurs within a group

that has worked for a long time and is now experiencing change both internally and externally . Movements within a group and changes in the organization which the group is associated with are examples that can lead to conflict when members prefer good news over the truth for fear of hearing feedback or news that tend to `disturb ' an individual 's deeply-held opinions , thoughts , and feelings about his /her role and function in the group and organization . In to induce change individuals need to have an open-mind , be objective , and learn not to let their personal beliefs and prejudices rule over their better judgment

On the 11th principle , it is vital that people provide their own input in the changes that are happening within the organization , for it is only by giving part of `themselves ' as members that they can truly say that they belong and actually own the organization itself . By giving their skills , knowledge , and talents to the organization or group people are giving part of themselves , making the organization accountable to and composed of the individuals who have willingly shared their resources to it...
