As with all mankind , the history of the Canadians is marked by all kinds of frustration and happiness . Among their lows in life was a long period of extreme sadness , penury and acute poverty , struggles to survive at all cost , gravely desperate moments and wounded feelings

during the Great Depression . It was then at a time when the lives of this remarkable people by an era of severe trials and almost unbearable darkness
