Primary goal of the admission process is to enroll students who demonstrate academic and professional promise and whose background and experience will enhance the diversity of the student body, thereby enriching the dental school educational environment.

br I moved to the U .S . from Korea with my brother when I was 13 . We lived with an aunt for 4 years who served as our surrogate parent since our parents were both very busy working n Korea and could not just pack up and leave their jobs to be with us . I did not speak a word of English when I first arrived here . I found it difficult to adapt to the new language but pushed myself to do so because I had my sights set on being admitted to the

While I was in college , I made an extra effort to help my community by helping and volunteering at various dental clinics . I did most of my volunteer work at the Seattle Gospel Union dental clinics . Here , I performed as a dental assistant while the dentists performed operations and surgeries . It was an enlightening experience for me and helped to further fuel my desire to become a dentist . My exposure there has led me to make a personal commitment to doing dental community service the minute I get my dental license . Eventually , I see myself becoming a dentist with a heart . A dentist who does not hesitate to help the elderly and orphaned who cannot afford dental care because the little service I can give them will help , no matter how minutely , in improving their lives...
