Education plays a vital role in shaping our society . It is distressing to know that an increase in school can affect the future of an entire society . In the case of state of Texas , an alarming numbers of school dropouts became a major crisis for the past years . The Texas Education Agency has launched a project which is named The Dropout Recovery Program . It was implemented by school districts to bring students who have dropped out back into school , have contributed to the reaction of dropouts . The said agency has also funded the Online Manual and Technical Assistance Services for School Reentry Programs project . In to develop the said manual , they gave the project to EGS Research Consulting who conducted a survey to Texas school districts via the net . The purpose of this survey is to collect information on dropouts ' recovery and reentry strategies and programs that a district uses . On the other hand , the Texas Policy Foundation did some policy studies regarding government actions to the said crisis such as the School Choice policy . They had proven the effectiveness of this policy by referring to other researches and supporting data such as the effectiveness of the Milwaukee Parental Choice Program .
