Theodore D . Roosevelt , or more commonly known as FDR , is one of the most notorious US Presidents and this is not really surprising since his economic policies and diplomatic relations from his first (1933-1937 ) to the third term (1941-1945 ) were unusual . What puzzles the most is that if Roosevelt is indeed conservative , an isolationist and liberal as most people label him . To answer this , there is a need to investigate his

economic and diplomatic maneuvers from his first term to his second and finally his last term , which covers mostly that of the World War II ?severe case of unemployment rates ?25 ) and homelessness . During his first term he established the following programs (1 ) Federal Emergency Relief Administration (2 ) Civilian Conservation Corps (3 Reconstruction Finance Corporation Expansion (4 ) Agricultural Adjustment Corporation (5 ) National Industrial Recovery Act (6 Securities and Exchange Commission (7 ) Public Works Authority , and (8 Tennessee Valley Authority

Some would say that his first Movement was what would most Presidents do had they been in his position but his economic tactics were almost ruthless and sometimes damaging to civil and economic rights . He single-handedly maneuvered the US depression to a lower threshold capacity but in the process he gained a lot of enemies among of which are the Conservative coalitionist party that finds his radical economist schemes too unconstitutional ' Much of his projects entailed federal spending and there was budget reduction /cutting for the defense and education sectors . He even when so far as to try to remove the pension of the War veterans but this was movement was vehemently denied in court . His NIRA and AAA were damaging to the right soft he staunch businessmen because he heavily regulated or monopolized their economic activity (e .g . price regulation ) such that other interested small-time investors and businessmen can participate in the economic market . In his second term , he ratified economic policies like Social Security Act Fair Labor Act (min . wage ) and the Wagner Act . Works Progress Administration was also constructed as part of the New Deal Movement The Wagner Act gives rights to laborers and workers to form unions and the right to protest or to strike

His New Deal Movements was eventually put to a stop by the conservative coalitionist party when the workforce or union disbanded or was halved His third term was popular because it demonstrated his Good Neighbor policy , a popularization of peace ideology and scorning war . His isolationist principle extended to that of mercantilism he refused to trade with those nations of Great Powers or those supporting Great Powers and instead flourished the tide of mercantilism in favor of states in the Western Hemisphere like the Latin Americas and the Caribbean . In the middle of the war however , he supported that of the Allied Movement . His secret Rainbow Five plan and the Destroyers for Bases Agreement revealed that he is heavily involved in the support of war...
