were put into police jail after being caught breaking into the office . Former US President Richard Nixon is said to be aware of the incident . Some people mentioned in the film All the President 's Men include the two journalists Bob Woodward and Carl Bernstein , Hugh Sloan and former US president Richard Nixon

Woodward and Bernstein are two important people in the scandal because they were the ones who started an investigation from the media . They went more than what they thought was clear from first impression . They gave it their best shot just to get to the bottom of everything about the scandal . At one point , they were able to identify and give the real name of one of the sources of information about Watergate - Hugh Sloan Without the work of Woodward and Bernstein , it is possible to say that the scandal would not have been discovered .
