In the 2nd chapter of the First Book of Paul to Timothy , verses , 1-2 it states we are commanded to pray for our leaders , in his case , for kings and all who are in authority , that we might live a tranquil and quiet life . This command of Paul , I believe , runs counter to what the

current society is doing for our leaders . Instead of praying for our leaders , we usually send letters , electronic mail messages , and deliver tirade after tirade of what we want to be done or for our leaders

to act in a certain way that the person who sent the letters will find satisfactory ti his /her caprices . But in complete contrast , Paul calls Christians to pray for them , that God might direct the hearts of the leaders (Proverbs 21 :1 (New American Standard Bible
