According to Arundhati Roy , I stumbled on a denomination , a sub-world , whose life 's endeavor was entirely the opposite of mine . For them the whole purpose

of language is to mask intent (42 . This passage or paragraph explains how the use of language provides power to an individual who is able to manipulate language . This is greatly exemplified in The Emperor 's New Clothes where the dilemma is that , one would be able to see the clothes if he is wise , and he wouldn 't if he was incompetent , though in reality , there are actually . From the words wise ' and incompetent ' alone the scoundrels were able to manipulate the thoughts of others especially those who are afraid to admit their flaw , to deviate from reality . The two scoundrels were able to build a foundation of trickery from these two words , and later supported the elaboration of a hoax hiding their real intentions . Since the other characters , especially the emperor , were already bound to a perspective that there are actually new clothes , they were outwitted to believe what is not real . While the child sees the new clothes ' on a different perspective , and realizes the truth . However , it was already too late . The scoundrels were able to get what they want without actually giving much , all they needed were words and an eloquent style of language
