Cesar Chavez , Martin Luther King , Jr , Mahatma Gandhi , and Henry David Thoreau were all revolutionary thinkers that had a huge influence on the world around them . Though they all had somewhat different political ideals and they all fought for different causes , each has been linked to one very important form of resistance . They were all tied to the idea of nonviolent resistance in a time when it was neither popular nor thought to be effective to make a point without using violence . Their ideas of nonviolent protest brought forth revolutionary

changes and helped advance each of their individual causes . Though fought for exactly the same thing , each of these great men had a role in shaping the way that people fight in today 's world

Cesar Chavez was revolutionary to the point where he is thought of as the father of modern labor protest . The video , The Fight in the Fields Cesar Chavez tells about the life and accomplishments of the man who brought about much social change for Mexican workers . In that film , it is easy to see how Chavez may have had pressure to go about his business in a different way . After first being appointed as a community organizer , he started taking up a different cause . He realized , in short , that his community could not be organized in its current state because the people did not get a fair shake at their jobs .
