Is Decentralization of Canadian Federalism Good for Canada

Given the fact that Canada was built on a set of complex diversifications including ethnic , linguistic and regional diversification , there were political guarantees demanded from different Canadians and what we now know as Canada was sooner or later headed to federalism . Federalism was adopted in 1867 under the BNA Act . It was seen as the perfect ideology to adopt as it ensured the US would no take over the Canadian lands . It also made the then required task of building

br roads and railroads easier since the colonies would be combined and they would have more tax and more economical advantages . In addition , the British colonies thought that controlling such a huge amount of land was costly and it would weaken the British military sector . Those were the main reasons that lead to the Canadian Confederation . of those difficulties are still present , so many speculators question whether federalism is still beneficial .
