Political rhetoric is a linguistic device that has been employed as a cultural mechanism for thousands of years . This has ranged from the basic premises of logic and ruler-ship amongst societies to the bonding mechanism for powerful links between otherwise wide spread and disparate communities . Examples of the latter cultural organism can be

seen in last centuries rise of the notion of nation states during primarily the colonial expansion of European Empires to the all out rhetorically driven validation for complete control and the subsequent world war campaigns of many of the various states involved . During such times , the political rhetoric was employed as a fundamental cultural device that infamously focused upon the ideology of the people in the states of namely Germany and Russia Giving birth to the science of propaganda at this time , political rhetoric had become so powerful that it had begun to shape the cultural reality of the people that it consumed . Many intellectuals and thinkers of this time commented upon the power of political rhetoric and its ability to redefine reality itself , noting its change from artistic eloquence in such times as Shakespeare , to a powerful all consuming ideological apparatus that could shape social reality by the time of the mid twentieth century .
