Childhood Life

The second among four siblings , Roosevelt was born on October 27 , 1858 in New York City . He was sickly in his early childhood but despite the frequent ailments the boy was very active and full of mischief . At nine years of age , he had already developed a passion for zoology , studying many animals in a makeshift museum . The influence of Roosevelt Sr . on his son cannot be underestimated . He always put himself in his fathers shoes when about to make a major decision . He exhibited great courage and strength with tenderness , gentleness and selflessness .
