A closer examination will reveal that accidents in the airline industry can be attributed to pilot error and mechanical failure . But experts are saying that the incidence of accidents not attributed to mechanical failure and substance abuse is growing . This leads to the conclusion that pilot error and pilot fatigue is the main reason for the said accidents . There are airline passengers whose knuckles will turn white upon take-off and they will grip their seats tight when the plane is about to land .
