It is a fact that teaching as a profession has undergone vast changes throughout the decades and teachers have also changed in terms of their general approach (Harris , 1994 . In relation to this though , it is also apparent that each teacher has his or her own perspective or view

regarding the profession . Specifically , it is probable that each teacher has a unique set of personal goals , objectives , methods , and beliefs regarding the most appropriate and efficient way of teaching . In this sense , it is quite important that a teacher should evaluate him or herself to gain a better understanding of such personal perspectives regarding teaching so as to better develop in the teaching profession and to better guide his or her students

As mentioned , it is important to reflect upon one 's views regarding teaching . Thus , the basic meaning of learning from a personal standpoint must be realized . Personally , I believe that learning is not merely being able to memorize certain facts regarding a subject or to be capable of being able to masterfully solve several mathematical problems . For me , learning is most importantly practical in essence .
