In accordance to certain rules , the military protects the state . In this protection there is the force it represents to opposing armies as well as hiring men and paying them in to serve , thus the military adds a support for family life through employment . However , in the focus of peace keeping techniques , sometimes an army is not always necessary (I think this is what Confucius is stating in an example , India survived with peace movements with their leader Gandhi . Gandhi did not use military techniques in to bring together his country he simply used the force and will of his people 's faith in him to move the mountains he wanted to in for India to survive .
