Pharmacy School Essay

Since I was a child , I have been sincerely admiring difficult work of our medical doctors , nurses , pharmacists and other health care specialists , especially their courage , determination and dedication to their noble profession . During my frequent visits to hospitals I had an opportunity to observe different hardships and challenges doctors have to face in their daily routine . I was sure that medicine is my true devotion , that 's why I decided to make every effort for developing my own career on this field

During my school years I

had always been very good in scientific disciplines , especially in biology and chemistry , that 's why in high school I started having a real interest in pharmacy and pharmacology . I was trying to integrate my general knowledge of chemistry with various specific information about chemical properties and biological effects of different groups of medications . This helped me very much to prepare myself perfectly well for my future occupation

After finishing school I have been working in pharmacy for about 6 years . I had an opportunity to cooperate with many different specialists who used to help me to understand what it is like to be a good pharmacist and were always glad to answer all my questions . I had experience of working with other health care professionals , including calling doctors , physician assistants , nurses , etc , and that was the most interesting period of my life because I had a chance to learn a great deal of new important things and skills

I could realize that modern pharmacy is a rapidly developing and expanding professional field , which now became the third largest health profession in the USA . Specialists in pharmacy are in a very good demand and can obtain a job as consultants in pharmacy shops , employees of hospitals , specialized clinics or health care centers , as well as in labs or research centers . Currently , pharmacists play new important roles and take more responsibilities to help relieve the stress on the current healthcare system

In addition , I am greatly attracted by this profession because of its flexibility , dynamism and opportunity to deal with the patients , who have different health problems . I believe that I have all necessary personal qualities and social skills for doing this job well . I always enjoy communication as the best way to support patients , give them positive emotions and stimulate their will for recovery . I could already experience how great it is to feel people 's trust , appreciation and gratitude for your work

That is why I would rather not work as a researcher or a developer in the lab . I think that working in a community setting , taking care of different patients , advising them on the selection and providing them with comprehensive information about available medicines is the best choice for me . Undoubtedly , I am well aware of all the responsibilities and possible difficulties I can face , but I am ready to be always on feet and work long hours , nights and weekends , because people may need medicines...
