Personality Development

Our personality is the combination of traits that makes us who we are It is what makes us

who we are . The development of our personalities is usually influenced by various

factors - environmental , genetic and natural . The development of our personality starts

from our childhood and continues well into our adulthood

In the book , The Influence of Early Experience on Personality Development by Mark H

Bickhard John Chambers Christopher I discovered that the experience in the later

stages

of personality development is strongly influenced by the experiences in the earlier

stages . These experiences usually occur during association with people and the reaction

received from the association

Personality development is studied by interviewing the subject and relations at

different times ) about how she behaved in certain situations during childhood and

observing how the patient behaves when placed in the same situations in adulthood

Some data has been collated by Adebola about personality development

When a child falls down painfully and discovers his /her parents will not come running

after a while will no longer cry but pick themselves up and go about their business

This eventually creates toughness within the child which he eveutually takes into

adulthood

The experiences that we go through all come together to influence our personality

development . It influences our decisions who we associate with and what we will be like

in the future

The main influence on our personality development is our experiences
