COMPARING THE BEHAVIORAL AND COGNITIVE BEHAVIORAL APPROACHES TO PSYCHOANALYSIS AND CHANGE WITH THAT OF PSYCHOANALYSIS

They both have similar strategies that are based on a person 's theory being dynamic and instrumental . The theory of personality consists of the concept of perceiving , feeling , thinking , and moving . There is an overlap of emotions and cognition . People tend to be happy and engage in behavior which is self destructive and think irrationally instead of being rational in their way of thinking . When people understand these tendencies they are able to change . The theory of

personality is activating emotional event , consequence of our emotions and how we belief . For example , I may get a rejection letter and interpret it to mean that I am a failure and get depressed .
