I have had the privilege to study the structure of society and the role of the individual through my Introduction to Sociology course . With this academic opportunity , I have broadened my knowledge and have become more critical about my own views of society , specifically through the Functionalist , Conflict , Feminist , and Interactionist perspectives . I have been fascinated with such viewpoints hence , I have been studying and learning more about political perspectives and ideologies , not to mention researching and evaluating key sociological issues through critical papers we write and informative discussions

in class . It is my enjoyment with this course and my desire to obtain deeper knowledge and understanding of sociological concepts that have led me to aspire to obtain the highest level of education possible in the field of sociology . Consequently , I am applying to enter in this esteemed major in this prestigious University

My experience in the field of sociology stems from my participation and active involvement in the American Youth Soccer Organization (AYSO Initially , when I signed up to volunteer for this organization , I only expected to take part in the activities and help advance the group 's causes every once in a while . However , as I energetically devoted my spare time to AYSO , I found myself fulfilling different roles and learning more about people and society
