Personal Values in Healthcare
Personal Values in Healthcare For the past decades , the healthcare system can be delivered through various facilities or amenities (1 ) hospitals (2 ) ambulatory surgery centers (3 ) skilled nursing facilities (4 ) home health agencies (5 freestanding substance abuse facilities (6 ) hospice , and (7 ) end-stage renal disease centers (Wellmark , Inc , 2008 , slide 6 . There are numerous healthcare systems that are available , yet it is very evident that `personal values ' stems out as the most important factor in bringing out a decision on which of these systems would be the best place for the

patient . This is because the decision on where and how the patient would be put under healthcare would describe the environment that the patient is most likely to experience under that specific healthcare . For example , hospitals are usually the most prominent place for patients that need primary care , but they usually cost too much , and it would usually leave the patients alone and isolated , especially if the other members of the family are out in the field working . For this some would usually put the patient under home health agencies , wherein nurses provide primary care right at the patient 's home . This is most useful , especially for children who need care but who are too young to be left alone in hospitals , as well as for elderly patients who are under the end-stage renal disease centers and the specialty hospitals
For terminally ill patients , personal values would define on whether or not they would stay in public facilities (e .g , hospitals ) where they see themselves put apart from the normal society or even their family Patients should have the drive and the stimulation for them to get well while at their beds , and it is mostly evident that patients who physically receive encouragement from families and friends tend to have more chances of getting well . Thus , others would rather put them near the family under home health agencies . However , for people who are more practical , putting terminally ill patients away from hospitals - where the best apparatus and facilities are to be located - means driving them away from their chances of getting well . Thus , it really all depends on personal principles , ethics , and values
