Taking Chances

The choices we make are attributed to the numerous challenges we make in life . There are those people who would just be contented with what they have and not yearn for more . However , I am one of those people who would do otherwise . My experiences in life made me decide to fulfill a medical degree and become a well respected doctor

I am originally from Ethiopia- which was considered to be the poorest country in Africa . The predicament also hindered Ethiopians from improving their craft and expanding their horizons . I

bore witness to losing family members to unknown illnesses and diseases . What made it more difficult was the fact that there were a limited number of health care professionals in our town for years . I could not help but feel disappointed with the fact that clinics were not found nearby . People had no other place to go to when they were in need of medical assistance . This was heartbreaking for both my family members and I which also became the very core for me to work hard and become a doctor In addition to this , numerous people in our country , more specifically in our town , died due to different kinds of diseases or illnesses . Such became the very reason as to why improvement in our country became impossible to achieve

Fulfilling my dreams of becoming a doctor became more difficult as time passed by

My family did not have enough money to support all of our educational needs...
