Abstract

Life sometimes is known to throw a curve ball once in our lifetime Situations like these tend to make us irate , desperate , angry and more often than not , tired and frustrated . But sometimes times like these can be used not as hindrances or situations that break the person , but to define the character of the person . It can be construed as a steeping stone , not as a stumbling block to the achievement of the goals one has in life

It is hard to be looked down upon when the terms used in that judgement is not because of any failure or deficiency in intellect , motivation or any intangible condition that would seem to justify the judgement upon the person . In my case , what was used as the basis for dismissing me from service in our nations ' military was the sole prerogative of the military to enforce a onerous and discriminatory provision designed to buttress the irony of the land of the free , that of one 's sexual orientation . It is a most shattering experience . It is one of those times that made me feel a great degree of helplessness , a feeling that I , along with the many who had to undergo this most traumatic incident was most hurt
