Business ethics is concerned with the rules , regulations , duties and the obligations that arise in the areas of business , trade and commerce . It deals with the problems that can develop in business settings

and the ways in which they can be solved . It also deals with certain values and principles that needs to be followed by the organization doing business Business ethics protects the organization , its competitors , the customers and the public from suffering any losses due to the wrongful act of any party . All the managers and leaders belonging to various business organizations should know about the applications of business ethics . Considering advancement in technology , human beings are trying to gain the maximum from every interaction with the customer including making profits . As there is intense competition between various organizations , many of the businesses are resorting to unfair means to gain monetarily . The information technology is beginning to boom and is still developing . Companies are beginning to specifically target and gain unfairly from the clients and other competitors . Today the security on the Internet is still very low , as these services are still not regulated (almost anybody can release anything from the internet and hack onto others systems . Competitors would unfairly steal and use technology of several business organizations . Besides , they are also making efforts to destroy other business that offer similar services or products . Thus the policy of nonmaleficence is not respected . Larger companies are causing greater inconveniences for the smaller competitors by actually buying out their products in the market (Sutchiffe , 2002 Ethics World , 2003 McNamara , 2007

I am not only faced with the problem of improving the ethics of my own business organization , but also improving the way in which the competitors affect me . I would consider developing a corporate policy to ensue that the business is conducted in an ethically manner . Some of the ethical policies would include avoiding discrimination , maintaining confidentiality , avoiding false and misleading advertisements , following the relevant antitrust laws , ensuring worker safety and health , not invading the privacy of other organizations , etc . I would also have to protect my own business from the unethical practices of other organizations . One measure would be to install a very strong firewall and antivirus systems in to prevent other organizations from spying on my systems and stealing data . In to prevent loss of data through the employees , I would ensure that the employees would have to sign a non-disclosure agreement . This would ensure that other organizations do not hire my employees and use my technology for their purposes . I would also enter into a legal agreement with the employees preventing them from working...
