at all levels - from supervisor to president . Indeed , a major portion of all selection and training activity is devoted to leadership the success or failure of any organization depends in large measure , on the quality of its leaders . Some analysts believe that the basic difference between a successful and an unsuccessful organization is its leadership . My own leadership style is the democratic type . I shall describe the nature of this leadership style along with its important leadership traits and behaviors The Democratic Leadership

This type of leadership is just the opposite of the authoritarian . The democratic leader takes into consideration the human element with all its complexities . Here the leader stimulates group efforts and cooperation . He believes that the members should take part in decision-making , especially on things that affect the group . All policies are therefore the product of group thinking and activities . He welcomes suggestions , listens to complaints and is prompt in taking care of them . He , however , avoids giving extra privileges to certain members who seek them , especially when they are not deserving . People working under him are generally loyal to him because he is considerate and personally helpful . They are loyal to the cause of the business he represents , because being a model , they want to imitate him (Koehn , et al , 2003
