This type of leadership is just the opposite of the authoritarian . The democratic leader takes into consideration the human element with all its complexities . Here the leader stimulates group efforts and cooperation . He believes that the members should take part in decision-making , especially on things that affect the group . All policies are therefore the product of group thinking and activities . He welcomes suggestions , listens to complaints and is prompt in taking care of them . He , however , avoids giving extra privileges to certain members who seek them , especially when they are not deserving . People working under him are generally loyal to him because he is considerate and personally helpful .
