Personal Interest in the inaugural international residency to Chile

br As a student of Business Administration with a dual concentration on economics and international business , I am one of the lucky few who fully understand the need for an enthusiastic business relationship between countries . It is of the utmost importance that this business relationship be built upon a full understanding of a particular country 's traditions , culture , and business beliefs . One of the main ways of accomplishing that requirement is by simply immersing oneself in the cultural and business environment of that country . This trip will also offer me a once

in a lifetime chance to be able to understand and learn about Latin America where my roots as a person stems from . By joining this immersion activity , I will be given a chance to learn not only about the business aspect of the trip , but I will also learn about the part of the world where my ancestors came from and how that world functions

Being a Hispanic American of Puerto Rican descent , it is my belief that I will be the perfect candidate for the International Student Residency program in Chile because I already have a basic understanding of the Latin American way of life and I speak Spanish fluently . Being able to speak their language will offer me a chance to learn more from the hosts of the program because we will both be able to converse in a language we are both comfortable speaking and also serve as a sign of honesty and openness as I honor their culture by speaking their language

I have a very comprehensive grasp of how business is done in Chile starting with the types of companies that may be set up in the country all the way to how their businesses get taxed by their government and what sort of safety measures the government has in place to protect their local and international business practitioners . I also understand how these situations affect the country and its businessmen both politically and economically . I have even gone so far as to day dream about how to deal with these problems and have , in reality , drawn up plans regarding the best way to tackle certain economic problems of the country that I would love to discuss and present to the business community leaders I will be meeting during this trip . This trip will offer me a chance to speak to the brightest minds of the country and share my ideas with them so that they can tell me which of my ideas are sound and which would be hard to implement in the country and why . I might even be able to make their business leaders understand that their country can continue to thrive and grow economically if they cooperate with the United States in regard to certain aspects of their economic development...
