[YOUR NAME] [YOUR PROFESSOR 'S NAME] [CLASS NUMBER] [DATE OF ASSIGNMENT] Reflections on Orwell 's Essays Why I Write , The Spike , and How the Poor Die George Orwell has written many significant essays on poverty , struggle writing , politics , and other issues that his readers can reflect on in their own lives . After reading much of his work out of the collection A Collection of Essays , I decided on three very interesting and hard hitting pieces

that I could identify with . These are Why I Write , The Spike , and How the Poor Die . The first is his most biographical piece and it is easy for one person to identify with another in writing , when the author is so honest and poignant in their craft . The Spike ' was a decent choice out of all his pieces as he talks about both poverty and judgment and how it is so easy to judge those who are poor . Finally , How the Poor Die ' is an interesting piece to look at as Orwell 's statements then are just as relevant today and though this essay is not labeled as political , per se , there is much political debate going on right now surrounding healthcare . Orwell is a master writer and I will attempt to do his work justice by making connections with his words and my life and beliefs
