Performance-enhancing drugs including anabolic steroids diuretics , creatine , and stimulants ' are helpful since it boosts muscle mass , lessens weight , makes muscles extremely lean , and amplifies vigilance and assertiveness respectively . Such advantages are advantageous to athletes especially since it plays a large role in the possibility of winning in their respective sports . However , these performance-enhancing drugs should not be depended upon , in fact , it should be avoided as much as possible since , for instance , anabolic steroids ' causes increase in bad cholesterol liver problems

The first one is known as anabolic steroids (Mayo , 2006 .
