Introduction
The goal of art and music therapy is inclined to assist persons with special cases . Creating an art or listening to music is regarded by researches as a means to distract a person from focusing on thoughts of pain and anxiety . Studies also claim that music and art therapy contributes to the stabilization and calmness of the body , mind , and spirit of children and adults . Although these previous studies have been conducted , the search for answers regarding the effect of the therapies is still to be examined . It is therefore important to correlate these studies to the views of those individuals who have undergone therapies and to those who have not
The purpose of this study is to assess the extent of impact of the said therapies to individuals who have already experienced it as compared to those who never had it . It is hypothesized in this study that the perceptions of individuals who have undergone art and music therapy are yearn to have a more positive view towards the said therapies Furthermore , another premise of the study is the idea that people who are engage in musical or artistic pursuits will be more likely to perceive art and music as more positive . The validity of the hypotheses presented will be tested by thorough analysis of the result that will be generated from the survey
Methods
A defined population of fifty individuals recruited from Pace University will be used in the study . This set of respondents will be randomly selected and will be used to represent the whole population . The students assigned to perform the study will develop questions that are incline in collecting information concerning the respondents ' attitude to art and music and art and music therapy . Demographic questions will also be prepared upon the conduct of the survey
The analytical study design will be used in this research wherein the participants will be allowed to answer standardized survey questions that have been prepared . The consent of the respondents will be first confirmed before the survey questions will be given . Time allotment for answering the survey is 10 to 15 minutes . Data that will be generated will be held at strict confidentiality for the respondents ' advantage
