The Athenians are by nature patriotic , heroic and scarifying . They have not hesitated to take any risk when the safety of Greece is in question They made every sacrifice which no other city state could imagine it could do . The Athenians take the stand of caution and assertion in their approach

The Athenians come forward to remind the people of the great sacrifices made by the Athenians . They want to remind the role of the Athenians in saving Greeks and rectify the false notions that are being

spread against them . They do not like to be judged by others especially by the people at the meeting nor do they put their case for justice . It was a cautious step taken by the Athenians . The position adopted by the Athenians is to assert themselves . They reminded the gathering about how they saved Greece with their powerful naval forces . They say they left their city behind to save Greece . They kept their lives at stake and worked for the cause of saving Greece . That shows their patriotism Their contribution in saving Greece was immense and the credit certainly goes to their commanders who led them
