Peer-to-Peer and Client/server Networks
PEER TO PEER AND CLIENT SERVER Peer to Peer and Client /Server Network Architectures Your Name Here Computer Science Abstract The following is a brief of the two main types of network architectures : peer-to-peer and the client /server . They will be compared for the similarities they share and contrasted for the differences that set them apart . The most appropriate setting where each type of network should be used will be discussed Computer networks have become ubiquitous in our world . Large corporations , governments , a home computer users rely on some

form of network to access the Internet or share s intramurally . To describe the types of computer networks , the term network should be defined . A network is two or more computers with at least one shared resource and the means of connection between them . A shared resource is anything that can be accessed by the computers on the network such as a printer , a shared , or a shared cdrom drive . The means of connection can be Ethernet cable or a wireless link (eHow ,2010 . Now that networks are defined , the two main types of network can be explored . The first and most basic type of network is the peer-to-peer network . The second kind of network is the client /server model . Each type of network will now be described in greater detail . The merits and drawbacks of each type of network and what the best environment for their application is also discussed
The peer-to-peer type of network is the easiest...
