Pediatric Nursing Professional Goal Statement

As a child , I believed that if everyone did their own little part in taking that extra step to help others , the world would be a much better place for everyone . During my stint at Pediatric Rotation , I saw just how I would be able to live out my dream of making a difference in this world . I understand that my GPA may not reflect that I am an outstanding student but I do possess a quality that not many possess and that is the ability to connect with children . I feel that I

have an innate sense of understanding and compassion for children and I am able to deeply empathize with them . This , I feel , is also one of the main reasons that I confidently state that if I am given this opportunity I will do well in the Pediatric Unit caring for children

Pursuing my career in nursing is just the first step in my plan . Much like Nurse Leader Mary Breckenridge has done , I too want to be just more than a nurse . I cannot expect others to do what I myself would be willing to do but that does not mean that I cannot hope that others will see the example that I have shown them . The chance to help those who are less fortunate in life , the chance to help children , the opportunity to be of service to humanity these are the reasons why I have selected nursing as the profession that I will pursue...
