Participation in International Organizations And National Development Levels
Participation in International Organizations And National Development Levels Abstract There is a broad spectrum of thought on the legitimacy and authority of international organizations . The recent enlargement and the scale of participation of international organizations in global developments has led many academic theorists to claim that membership and participation may have unlimited benefits for the joining nations Their conjectures range from globalization and economic stability to international cooperation and support for democratic governments . The opposite end of the spectrum places little stock in the abilities of these institutions , claiming

that nations are motivated by self-interest alone . Can international organizations aid in a developing nation 's quest for economic strength , better standards of living , political autonomy , and regional stability ? There are claims that international organizations assist development levels there is also the possibility that developed nations are simply more likely to join as members Either way , the question must be asked : Is there a correlation between the levels of national development and participation in international organizations
