Current statistics on criminal cases has shown a sharp rise in inmates Criminal justice system mandated to holistically develop an offender into non offender has failed in many ways . The research I have undertaken clearly differentiate jail-bound prisoners from community sanctions which have proven to be a worthwhile alternative . In the recent years , there was concern among some supervision groups to improve their conduct on violation and revocations . The attention was key community corrections . Community sanctions are controlled and supervised by the probation and parole board and court who give out clear directions

Overcrowding in prison , a concern to the Community corrections

In 1995 , 3 .8 million persons were taken into correctional supervision in the community . That 's twofold the number of offenders in American prisons . Probation agencies have had to revise their management styles with these individuals safely and in economical manner . All the stakeholders , probation board , probation agencies , judges and prosecutors knows that eventually community safety and the reliability of the criminal justice is at risk (Allen et al 1981

The truth is that community supervision has been outnumbered by the imprisoned offenders who have even made tasks of probation agencies more challenging than ever (Latessa et al 2002 . Economic and operational realities now dictate that not all individuals should be distant from the community at the look of things that he / she are on probation or probation . It needs to be understood quickly that which problem is dominant among these parolees or probationers (Allen et al 1981 . More over it would be an added concern to determine which responsibilities probationers will be given in the community despite their problems (Latessa et al 2002 . There will be no room for lethal criminals if the prison gets filled up petty offenders . It comes with no surprise that probation and probation agencies are coming up with new strategies especially on technical infringements that do not involve new illegal actions
