Museum contains pictures of ancient cities , as well as provides general overview of Greeks ' daily life , religious life , festivals and rituals knowledge and learning , and discusses the origins of many Greek terms Summary of Findings Firstly , I enhanced my knowledge of

origins of Greek terms originated from Greece Classical Period . Moreover , I revealed how the cities were constructed , how they managed to defend their bs and what sightseeing they offered . Many cities of ancient Greece had a rocky mound , where important historical temples were built and where people were able to retreat during war time or unexpected attacks . Athens was the most famous acropolis in Greece . Even nowadays the Parthenon is considered one of the most famous constructions in the world . This temple was build for Greek goddess - Athena - the goddess of wisdom
One of the most interesting collections of museum is devoted to Athens daily life of its citizens , their festivals and religious life Secondly , I was welcomed to enhance my knowledge of how Greek women and man lived , whether women were discriminated and what status in the city they obtained . Moreover , I revealed that slavery and status discrimination were common for Greek society . During Classical period Athens were considered the most powerful city in Greece . Athens was the first city which managed to develop democracy as Greeks found very important to participate actively in the Athenian government
Thirdly , I revealed the origins of democracy in the world and how it was developed in Greece during Classical period . The greatest statesman of Classical period was Perikles (see picture ) who considered a man who takes no interest in public affairs not as apathetic , but as completely useless . Interestingly , male citizens were allowed to vote on all decisions and affect , in such a way , city 's affairs . Nevertheless democracy was close to women and children under full age . Moreover foreigners and slaves were strongly forbidden to take part in government
Fourthly , it became obvious for me that life of women in Greece didn 't differ significantly from modern life of women in certain Asian countries , where women life are centered on their homes and they are not allowed to receive education and jobs (see picture . Daily life in Athens was different for women and men as men actively participated in government , whereas women were usually expected to lead household and to take care of children . Museum also provides information about slavery in the country
Fifthly , I think the theme of `slavery ' is very important for historical development of every country as it gives a possibility to see country 's attitude toward slaves and people of lower societal status . I found that slavery was central in Greece . It means that wealth families could afford...
