For years now , organized labor unions have existed to safeguard and defend the rights of their members in different industries . The history of the rise of

the labor unions can be traced back to the rise also of industries

In the aviation industry , labor unions such as those comprised of pilots , flight attendants , have been very effective on their calls . If the issue in the labor disputes could not be handled by these organized labor unions , they would , in the near future , lose integrity , letting these unions be transformed into militant organizations

The current crisis in the United States has caused the aviation industry with much interference and disruptions . If these labor unions in the commercial aviation industry have maintained their ranks in their struggle for a systematic management in the industry , then these organizations could really go a long way

With these changes , the air transport sector has always been the most hit when it comes to economic recessions . The issue of globalization that was supposed to boost the industry has proven to cause otherwise in the industry 's most vital section - the labor force - comprised of pilots flight attendants and crew . Thus the workers struggle in the aviation industry continues . In for us to know the future of the organized labor in the aviation industry , it would be wise to analyze the history of labor unions in the industry and provide a glimpse of the present condition of the labor sector

Struggles of Organized Labor Today

Pilots from the Aloha Air had been waging a silent battle over pay and benefits issue since mid-April after Aloha Air management d bankruptcy last March 20 . Though the issue still hangs and awaiting further developments , pilots and crew still continue flying the airlines so as not to disrupt the 61 year-old service in the Hawaiian skies . To the dismay of pilots when Chapter 11 bankruptcy was d causing the termination of their wages and medical coverage which the new administration refuses to honor thus having pilots fly the cargo division without any given compensation for their services . There had been a series of dialogues with the incoming administrators of the airline company but issues were never resolved substantially . Hence from the courtroom , airline employees have decided that they would consider other means possible to put pressure on the airline company and prompt its administrators to give what these workers demand .
