As the growing stage progresses , conflict and inconsistency become increasingly evident . This conflict becomes apparent in several departments . As new

leaders surface , people begin to get involved in a conflict between the "old-timers " and the newcomers erupt . This power struggle can cause resignations , terminations and a lack of commitment Conflict will likely build between the scientists who have been around and those new leaders who are changing policies and procedures . If not handled this situation could become a severe issue within the company As change becomes more difficult , the morals of the entire company may begin to suffer . Tension and frustration will continue to mount over goals , procedures , and the issue of who is in control . It is at this stage that the company is at a huge risk . Moving to the next stage depends entirely on the development of policies and rules on what and what not to do . It is essential that leadership learn to delegate authority not just responsibility . The growth stage often results in a crisis situation and this is sometimes necessary to move forward . XYZ must be able to focus its energies and resources on finding the balance between managing the company and continuing to take risks in to grow . A greater emphasis must be placed on coordination , consistency and coherence in for XYZ to continue growing...
