organizations and the level of technology have great impact on an organization 's performance . These are important inputs in organizational processes , which need to be applied optimally . Organizational behavior involves values , principles and goals shared by management and other employees in organization . These determine the cultural direction of the whole organization as experienced both by insiders and outsiders who come into contact with the organization . Organizational behavior therefore is reflected in an organization by how the employees interact and communicate with each other , the management and third parties in contact with organization . It involves such processes such as : development , maintenance , reinforcement and altering of the way employees conduct themselves . It is an attempt to get employees to internalize the managements view point and ideals (Schermerhorn , John , 2004
Organizational behavior is what ensures compliance among the employees to organization goals or the various leadership styles and how the employees react to each one of them . Organizational behavior is reinforced by motivation , training , influence and force . Motivation involves encouragement of certain mode of behavior through recognition and reward system to encourage a certain mode of behavior . Employees need to learn and understand the organizational goals and means of achieving them and this is best imparted through a training program . The management may also use coercive force or influence to ensure conformity with organizational vision . How successful these goals have been internalized by the employees is evident through performance and productivity , level of efficiency , employee level of contentment and personal advancement (Ratzburg , Wilf , H , 2003
