ATTITUDE OF POLICE TOWARDS THEIR OWN ORGANIZATION

Introduction

This reviews the study conducted on `Police opinion about their own organization ' undertaken at the Republic of Macedonia by Trpe Stojanovski , Zorica Sinadinovska-Zdraveska and presents a scenario how the attitude of the police prevails in their working organization . Based on the results of the study the 3 theories on needs viz , two-factor theory , ERG theory and Mc Clelland theory are applied to observe which one of the theories suits the best in resembling the behavior of the police

The analyzed data disclose a figure that the majority of the police officers opined that security is important as equivalently with other functions to become a democratic state . Thus , it could be inferred that the police officers with social concern have felt the need for effective functioning of the nation as a democratic state with equal significance to security functions . Most of the police officers (87 .1 ) expressed that all the security functions are indispensable and just a few officers (12 .9 ) felt that political , economics , public and defense security alone are important . This indication reveals that the police officers expect describing a job of higher accountabilities in all the security functions . Most of the police officers have high esteem for their profession as police , excluding a few women police officers , who have negative feelings of being a police officer . It leads to a cue that most of the police officers like challenging tasks of the policing Socializing with the public was the interest of most (90 .5 ) of the police officers and they expect a recognition and reward from the public as friendly police personnel . Optimistic view was observed among the men police officers in bringing positive perspective among the public on the police but the women police officers have pessimistic view that they have less power to influence public

Police Perception

The furnished data of the study reveals that most of the police officers had involved in taking bribe but they have their own responses to cope the situation , for which many officers would react to take punitive action on the colleague getting bribe , some officers would counsel the colleague without any punishment and a few officers would take recommendations from others and informally respond to it . Police officers with low education are more adaptive to the bribes and corruption and those with little higher education refute about the existence of bribes and corruption but projected that officers are ready to take it . But the police officers with university education are bold in exposing that bribes and corruption are in practice among the police officers . The assertion shows that police officers with higher education are courageous in expressing the reality , whereas , police officers with low education pro refute to accept the reality
