Organ donation portrays the voluntary sharing or gift of life to another person in to give meaning on a person 's meaningless death . Death through time has transcended from mere passing out of this world to the heroic task of allowing organ beneficiaries the opportunity to extend life and the chance to live an improved

quality of life . And that is what everyone calls dying with a purpose (Holtkamp 2001 . Yet deceased organ donation as an opt-in may pull on questions like conflict of interest to the oath these medical doctors had undertaken in their professions which is saving lives . The complexity of retaining heartbeat until the patient fully comes back to life even in a brain death situation or looking after the needs of the other individual who could benefit from the organ transplantation brings conscience and responsibility to preserve life on a very difficult standpoint . Choices eventually make any medical practitioner and the people who play an active role in it - the judge of a patient 's life . The choice is life and it 's all about life . Organ donation is an act that empowers humans to offer humanity the chance to live normal productive lives again through unique organ donation and transplantation process . Organ donation takes healthy organs and tissues like kidney , heart , liver , pancreas , intestines lungs , skin , cornea and bone and bone marrow from one person for transplantation to its beneficiary . The organ procurement and transplantation process begins in the identification and voluntary act of a potential healthy donor . Once the consent is given , organ procurement organization (OPO ) coordinates the organ recovery and preservation to transport the healthy organs at the center for transplantation . However the potential to save lives is limited by the availability of suitable organs in the inventory for transplantation Limitations of which is endangering millions of lives all over the world waiting at their hospital beds for their organ and tissue donations

People from all walks of life regardless of age are encouraged to donate by affixing their signatures in a donor card (Blumstein Sloan 1989 Those that are below the age of 18 need the permission of their parents or guardian to donate . Those that are clinically dead need the authorization and endorsements of their immediate families to donate Donor refers to two sources : the source of the decision and the source of the organs .
