TO : Patricia Dolan , VP Operations ECO JET FROM : Ray Tanaka , Sr . Customer Service Associate DATE : August 28 , 2006 SUBJECT : Operations and Process Management Operations Manager responsibilities requires knowledge and experience in to facilitate various activities . Airline industry is complicated one and be able to thoroughly think various ideas and put them into practice requires a great deal of attention and patience . My MBA degree would definitely be put into use if I will be given a chance to part take in operation areas . This week considerably a tough one for me

in to accomplish several tasks that needed to be done right away that would result in a best way . I would like to present the summaries of each task I have completed
Vendor Cost Comparison : All of the three vendors are quite known to Eco Jet for their great performance . All of them displayed no nonsense working relationship to our company . They have presented the costs for our new passenger gate areas but I have to get the least expensive vendor to help in cost cutting . Newark Airport Construction Corp was the chosen vendor for the new gate project . It has also noted that the peak days are during Mondays and Fridays , considering that most passengers belong to the working class
Project Management : There are numerous tasks to be completed and for me to able to present it details I used the Critical Path Analysis . From the start of the different projects to be completed until the final operations Identifying the vendors , getting the additional staff for new gates , constructing the new passenger gate areas and analyzing the delayed flights
Employee Requirements : in for the new gate area to be fully operational additional manpower were needed . 80 new additional staff are needed , 16 agents per day , 8 agents per shifts . 80 additional staffs are enough to cover vacation , sick days , absenteeism . Standard rule is that in every 100 passengers there should be 1 agent . refer to the data I h aver prepared
Flight Delay Analysis : flight delays are just usual for any airline companies , but beyond the 3 - 15 mark is unacceptable . The data gathered showed that Eco Jet is still on the acceptable side of flight delays . There were days that there were no delayed flights . also refer to the graph I have prepared
