Obesity is a condition of excess body fat associated with large number of life threatening disorders . Initially , people believed that obesity affected adults but in the modern world children are at higher risk especially in elementary school . The increased level of obesity in elementally schools is very worrying . Major causes of obesity among children are attributed to decreased levels in physical activity , diet behavior , family lifestyle , hereditary conditions and low energy expenditure . Some of the trends that need to be established include first , adoption of physical activity programs at school . This is a valuable step that helps children to be more active and burn accumulated fat . Time should be allocated inform of breaks to avoid long hours of sitting and encourage the children to play which is enough exercise . A second consideration is developing programs that teach children about proper dieting . Children at home are provided with fatty foods which is a threat to their health
