These policies embody the overview of the company 's plans to achieve certain goals and objectives regarding the implementation of health and safety measures Policies , as compared to goals and objectives , are wide-ranging with a scope covering these particular goals and objectives

An example of a policy is the OSHA Enhanced Enforcement Policy . This policy concentrates on the capability of a company to provide a safe working environment which supports the health of its workers . This policy works on the monitoring and inspection of companies with high gravity ' remarks . Companies identified by OSHA to be high gravity are those with increased risks of injuries and accidents in the workplace . After several follow-up and programmed inspections , OSHA requires high-gravity companies to redevelop their facilities based on consultations and recommendations from OSHA . OSHA goals are brief representations of what the organization is trying to accomplish with its active involvement in the implementation of safety and health measures in the workplace . Goals are lists of specific and quantifiable targets that shall be carried out with the establishment of policies within a certain company . These goals are centered on the mission or the vision of OSHA , which is to institute safe workplaces all over the country , by minimizing or entirely eradicating the occurrence of injuries and illnesses in the working environment (UNT Libraries , 2001

An example of an OSHA goal is the improvement of safety and health for workers in the workplace through the minimization of accidents or hazards that causes injuries , illnesses , and even deaths . This particular goal was accomplished by OSHA in 2000 , as revealed by the results of the organization 's involvement in workplace safety and health measures intervention . The occurrence of accidents and hazards was lessened by 20 percent .
