Non Verbal Communication

Introduction

The will discuss a certain television program that was watched on March 4 , 2007 with mute mode . The name of the program was F .R .I .E .N .D .S and the main objective of this was to collect all the observations that can be retained for the non verbal communication in the program This would allow better understanding of what the characters are portraying and what they want to portray

The reason why non verbal communication is of such importance is because when an individual speaks or acts out a

certain scene , there is a need for the non verbal movements or body language to be in sync with the verbal communication . Hence , in to observe this gap between the two kinds of communication , the body language of three girls and three boys in the program will be observed

Observations

The program began when there were six people sitting around one another . The names of the characters were Ross , Rachael , Chandler Monica , Joey and Phoebe . Ross and Rachael seemed to have a different body language as compared to the other characters and with the other characters . The reason for this difference could be because there were signs of attraction with one another , that is , they were going out with one another

Throughout the episode , there was a sense of competition between the six because there was a football match that was going on . There were two teams where one comprised of Rachael , Ross and Chandler and the second team was of Joey , Phoebe and Monica . These teams were playing against one another in the backyard

The episode also had a sense of envy or fury between the two teams and the two people that really seemed to be involved in the game were Monica and Ross that were trying to prove a point and they would continue actins as if they were superior on a certain character as compared to the other

Rachael was not involved in the game at all . She would stay at the back of the whole game and just watch the teams play vigorously against one another in to win the game . The time when Rachael faced the team she was playing with , she got very angry and was gesturing emotionally and in a stressed manner in to convey her point across

Then there was a time in the episode where Joey and Chandler noticed a girl sitting on a bench in the park . This is when they got tension between each other and took the game on the next level of hatred . They acted in a hostile and rude manner with one another in to show the girl a point

Chandler feels that he may have achieved something for impressing the girl instead of Joey and this is when he starts dancing in to show his expression of happiness and a sense of achievement . This makes Joey upset and this is also shown on the expressions...
