Noah

Noah was a direct descendant of Adam . According to his genealogy , he was the tenth and last of the antediluvian Patriarchs . He was the firstborn of Lamech , son of Methuselah . He was 500 years old when he begot three sons named Shem , Ham , and Japheth

When the world rose to utmost wickedness , the Lord declared to destroy the earth . Amidst the evil in the world , Noah found grace in the eyes the Lord . He was blameless among the people of his time , and walked with God , according to the Scriptures . In the middle

of the earth 's corruption , Noah was the one commanded by God to construct an ark of a particular design to save himself and his immediate family together with a number of animals specified by God . In to provide sustenance , he was told to bring and store food . Those instructions will save them from the coming deluge that will destroy man and the rest of the creatures on earth . Although the building of the ark was an arduous task and took Noah a hundred years finishing it , as a devoted servant of God , he executed everything according to what God had commanded him , without any objections

Through God 's guidance , Noah was able to keep his family and the creatures in the ark well-nourished for the whole length of their stay above water surface . When the time came when they can disembark from the ark , the Lord told them to be fruitful and to fill the earth . God gave man the power over all the creatures on earth and subsistence . Noah offered thanks to God through burnt offering on the altar . God made a covenant with him never to destroy the earth again with deluge . God set a rainbow in the cloud as a sign of God 's covenant with Noah

Noah began to farm and planted a vineyard . One time he was drunken with wine and got naked . One of his son , Ham , saw Noah 's nakedness and told his two brothers of it . Noah 's other two sons , out of respect for their father , covered their father with their eyes averted . When Noah awoke and learned of what had happened , he cursed Ham 's son Canaan with eternal slavery , while giving his blessing to Shem and Japheth

Noah passed away at the age of 950 , 350 years after the flood . He was the last of the Patriarchs who lived long . The sons of Noah brought forth the generations on earth after the flood...
