Abstract

This is intended to show why the Americans with Disabilities Act or ADA , works with President George Bush 's No Child Left Behind Initiative . Too many children in America are not receiving the proper education because of developmental disabilities or the lack of resources to adequately teach those with serious needs . Every child deserves a chance to succeed on his or her own merits but

schools are failing to live up their obligations . I hope to demonstrate why the legislation is wonderful in theory and disastrous in practice

No Child Left Behind , or NCLB , was intended to give underprivileged kids a chance to learn under the same standards and environments as their counterparts . The purpose was educating kids that were deemed at-risk ' and offer them an opportunity to better themselves in the short term and their community in the future .
