Introduction

It has always been a fascination for psychologist and neuroscientists how toddlers and children alike develop their cognitive skills especially regarding the development of their capability to attain attention on the thing around them . For decades now , many scientists specializing on the cognitive processes of children are venturing on different studies just to find out and get basic answers to questions like

how do these babies begin being attentive to their environment and maintain continuous concentration of their surroundings

Questions like what are the early signs they show when they begin to get hold of their cognitive senses thus getting a grasp of their immediate environment . What constitutes their capacity to pay attention to what is happening and on the things at hand 's reached to them

Concentration of researches and studies on the early cognitive developments of toddlers and children , especially regarding attention is not surprisingly a favorite subject for psychologists since these developments in mental perception of babies stand and foretell how healthy is the mental reasoning , judgment and memory and the overall behavior of these babies when they grow up

Still , in spite of the voluminous studies regarding the subject , there are still many pieces of the puzzle regarding the growth of attention aptitude of toddlers and children that remain to be answered and given a clear explanation , if not how young they are when they start to gain a longer span of attention to the things that they do should be answered for the purpose of obtaining a better comprehension to the mental healthiness of the subjects

Moreover , it is safe to say that a good cognitive aptitude of the babies and children is a sign of a good neuro-physiological make-up of their brains . This is where the query on what does a brain , if afflicted by illness , now enters

So vis-a-vis these research questions of finding answers to the basic inquiries concerning the development of mental attention of children there comes along with it the lingering need to find out also how children suffering from brain disease gain maturity of their attentive skills

Of course , on a superficial examination , considering the case of the latter , will give a quick conclusion that these no-so healthy babies lag behind in terms of mental progress compared with their healthy contemporaries

In spite of the seemingly obvious conclusion based on casual survey between the two set of children (the healthy and not-so healthy , there is the necessity and obligation on the part of psychologists and neuroscientists to define their differences

But what in the first place is the normal rate of healthy children developing their attentive capacity . How far this attention on things they do and play around with stand against distractions coming from their surroundings . There also hangs the question of relationship between the retentive attentions of the child to his cognitive processes

Nevertheless...
