Introduction

Powerlifting is one kind of an exercise that engages extensive muscles in its operation . It is a sport that utilizes an individual 's strength through lifting weights that are significantly heavy . It actually resembles weightlifting which operates in a much similar way of lifting heavy weights . Powerlifting is comprised of three events the squat the bench press and the deadlift . Its utilization of muscles is the pathway through which the muscles manage to develop . Since the principle requirement for the success in this sport is the neuromuscular success this will

Anatomy overview

The three events comprising the powerlifting exercise extensively use the muscles of the various parts of the body . The squat for example basically exercises the lower part of the body . The main muscles that play a major role in squat include the quadriceps , found at the front part of the thigh and the gluteus maximus making up the largest part of the buttocks . Even then , other muscles are also utilized in this exercise . These muscles include the hamstrings , found at the back of the femur . They also include lower back muscles which consist of a number of muscles and tendons found in the furrow on the side of the vertebral column .
