The Movie `The Queen` (2006 Best Picture Nominee)

One of the most basic appeals that the movie : The Queen has towards the audience is the fact that Helen Mirren played the role so well and that the real life event of the death of Princess Diana still resonates with the a caring and interested public . Even now , in October 2007 , the Royal Court of England is investigating the death of Princess Diana and whether or not the photos which were taken in Paris , should be made public . There has hardly ever been a figure in world history that has grabbed the

attention of the public to such as degree and duration as the People 's Princess . The physical beauty and elegance of Diana coupled with rumors of internal fighting with the Royal Family and her tragic death , all added to the mystique of Diana and the success of this film . Helen Mirren is The Queen and if there are to be in cinematic history , another attempt to portray the Queen , all will be compared to Helen Mirren 's performance . She has become the gold standard . There have been other period pieces before in which an attempt is made to create a realistically visual image of the historical figure that is being portrayed . However , in most of these cases , attempts to create a mirror image in which over the top and the attempt to portray the mannerisms of the person , usually hurts the integrity of the film to a large extent , that the film is used as canon fodder for future generations of critics . This was not the case for Helen Mirren who would eventually win an Academy Award for her performance of Queen Elizabeth . The movie audience found a rare treat never to be duplicated...
