Abstract

I am part of a resource allocation committee in a hospital . I have to help decide which 4 out of 10 critical patients will receive life-saving surgery , because this hospital only has resources for 4 patients . So , if I choose 4 patients , 6 will die . But if I refuse to take part in killing people , or if I am indecisive and think for too long , all 10 may die ! What I really should

do like a good man and a good Christian is minimize the harm of this situation . I would advise to blot out people who are likely not to get better after surgery , and continue suffering very aged patients with lots of ailments patients in coma with signs of brain death and also patients who are criminals or drug addicts . On the contrary , I would advise to give surgery to patients who are only children in family , or are only breadwinners in family especially if they have small children and to recognized and remarkable people who bring much profit to society
