Modern propaganda is the relentless efforts by the interested parties to change the thought process , consequently the action process of the targeted audience . You constantly face this weaponless war on your nerves-the war of words and manipulation . Artificial situations are created , wrong figures are presented , concocted interviews and action-situations are shown as real-life stories , implicit sex is used as the promotional tool to promote costly products and your power of resistance is continuously corroded . War This is the permanent psychological war , wherein the casualties are not taken to the hospitals , but remain in their respective homes and institutions . Modern propaganda tampers with an individual 's thought process by forcefully appealing to the emotions and projecting falsehood as the ultimate truth

Wise people say , a lie repeated from a platform a thousand times becomes the truth . The authors of the modern propaganda literature have mastered this technique . In many products the advertisement costs are more than the manufacturing costs . You have the print media , the electronic media , posters and handouts to bombard with information until you submit to the `merits ' of the product . Since there is no debate or argument involving you , you are not in a position to present your views . You are led to a position , where you accept the one-sided presentation and pay from your pocket to buy the product , for which an artificial demand has been successfully created within you . You soon form a habit-the product has become a part of your lifestyle

Modern propaganda in relation to politics

Politics is all about swaying the public opinion to your side , your policies and the goals that you promise to achieve for the welfare of the people . The first priority of the politician is to increase one 's popularity and win the next elections . Most of the governments deliberately employ propaganda for political gains , and the topmost item in their agenda is to win the masses . The inventions of radio and television have proved a boon to the rulers , especially when such departments are controlled by the State . Modern propaganda has the global significance in view of international warfare , rise in extremist organizations , and serious ideological conflicts . The propaganda war of arguments and counter-arguments , press statements , clarifications and contradictions are an everyday affair and the common man is continuously influenced by such feedings

Respect and uses of this ancient weapon

Propaganda is an old weapon but its utility has increased during the modern times as well and therefore this weapon is continuously polished for permanent use . Government propaganda efforts , in times or war (even the present day wars ) are carried out through press releases that are sent in advance to ambassadors so that they remain mentally prepared to influence the public opinion .
